ಸಪ್ತವಿಂಶತಿ ಸರ್ಗಃ

ಅಥ ತಾಂ ರಜನೀಮುಷ್ಯ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೋ ಮಹಾಯಶಾಃ |
ಪ್ರಹಸ್ಯ ರಾಘವಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಉವಾಚ ಮಧುರಾಕ್ಷರಮ್ ||

Then the great Viswamitra spent that night with them there only. Happy with the turn of events and with a smile he spoke to SriRama in pleasing words as follows.

ಪರಿತುಷ್ಟೋsಸ್ಮಿ ಭದ್ರಂ ತೇ ರಾಜಪುತ್ತ್ರ ಮಹಾಯಶಃ |
ಪ್ರೀತ್ಯಾ ಪರಮಯಾ ಯುಕ್ತೋ ದದಾಮ್ಯಸ್ತ್ರಾಣಿ ಸರ್ವಶಃ ||
ದೇವಾಸುರಗಣಾನ್ ವಾಪಿ ಸಗಂಧರ್ವೋರಗಾನಪಿ |
ಯೈ ರಮಿತ್ರಾನ್ ಪ್ರಸಹ್ಯಾಜೌ ವಶೀಕೃತ್ಯ ಜಯಿಷ್ಯಸಿ ||

' O Rama ! You are being appreciated all over. I am very happy. May you be victorious. I will impart to you the knowledge of different weapons . With their help you can overcome Devas ,Suras, and even Nagas and Gandharvas. You will be victorious'.

ತಾನಿ ದಿವ್ಯಾನಿ ಭದ್ರಂ ತೇ ದದಾಮ್ಯಸ್ತ್ರಾಣಿ ಸರ್ವಶಃ |
ದಂಡಚಕ್ರಂ ಮಹದ್ದಿವ್ಯಂ ತವದಾಸ್ಯಾಮಿ ರಾಘವ ||
ಧರ್ಮಚಕ್ರಂ ತತೋ ವೀರ ಕಾಲಚಕ್ರಂ ತಥೈವ ಚ |
ವಿಷ್ಣುಚಕ್ರಂ ತಥಾತ್ಯುಗ್ರಂ ಇಂದ್ರಮಸ್ತ್ರಂ ತಥೈವ ಚ ||
ವಜ್ರಮಸ್ತ್ರಂ ನರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಶೈವಂ ಶೂಲವರಂ ತಥಾ |
ಅಸ್ತ್ರಂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಶಿರಶ್ಚೈವ ಇಷೀಕಮಪಿ ರಾಘವ ||
ದದಾಮಿ ತೇ ಮಹಾಬಾಹೋ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಮಸ್ತ್ರಮನುತ್ತಮಮ್ |
ಗದೇ ದ್ವೇ ಚೈವ ಕಾಕುತ್ ಸ್ಥ ಮೋದಕೀ ಶಿಖರೀ ಉಭೇ ||

Oh Scion of Raghu ! I am giving you the celestial 'Danda chakra' and all other celestial weapons. Oh Raghavaa the clestial Dharma chakra , Kaala chakra , fierce Vishnu Chakra , and similarly the Indra's weapon will all be passed on to you. Oh best of men ! Vajrastra, Siva's maha Shula, Brahmasironaamakaastra , Ishikaastra similarly the unmatched Brahmaastra will be passed on to you. I will also give a pair of maces called Modaki and Sikhari'.

ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ತೇ ನರಶಾರ್ದೂಲ ಪ್ರಯಚ್ಛಾಮಿ ನೃಪಾತ್ಮಜ |
ಧರ್ಮಪಾಶಮಹಂ ರಾಮ ಕಾಲಪಾಶಂ ತಥೈವ ಚ ||
ಪಾಶಂ ವರುಣ ಮಸ್ತ್ರಂ ಚ ದದಮ್ಯಹಮನುತ್ತಮಮ್ |
ಅಶನೀ ದ್ವೇ ಪ್ರಯಚ್ಛಾಮಿ ಶುಷ್ಕಾರ್ದ್ರೇ ರಘುನಂದನ ||
ದದಾಮಿ ಚಾಸ್ತ್ರಂ ಪೈನಾಕಂ ಅಸ್ತ್ರಂ ನಾರಾಯಣಂ ತಥಾ |
ಆಗ್ನೇಯಮಸ್ತ್ರಂ ದಯಿತಂ ಶಿಖರಂ ನಾಮ ನಾಮತಃ ||
ವಾಯವ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಥನಮ್ ನಾಮ ದದಾಮಿ ಚ ತವಾನಘ |
ಅಸ್ತ್ರಂ ಹಯಶಿರೋನಾಮ ಕ್ರೌಂಚ ಮಸ್ತ್ರಂ ತಥೈವ ಚ ||
ಶಕ್ತಿದ್ವಯಂ ಚ ಕಾಕುತ್ ಸ್ಥ ದದಾಮಿ ತವ ರಾಘವ ||

Oh Rama I will also pass on Dharmapasa, Kalapasa, Varunapasa, and the very powerful Varunastra. The two celestial weapons Sushka sani, Aardra sani as well as Pinaakastra, Narayanaastra, Agneyastra named as 'Sikharam' will be passed on to you. O Raghava Vayavyaastra by name 'Pradhanam', a weapon called 'Hayasirassu', Kraunchaastra, and the two Shaktis will also be passed on to you'.

ಕಂಕಾಳಂ ಮುಸಲಂ ಘೋರಂ ಕಾಪಾಲಮಥ ಕಂಕಣಮ್ |
ಧಾರಯಂತ್ಯಸುರಾ ಯಾನಿ ದದಾಮ್ಯೇತಾನಿ ಸರ್ವಶಃ ||
ವೈಧ್ಯಾಧರಂ ಮಹಾಸ್ತ್ರಂ ಚ ನಂದನಮ್ ನಾಮ ನಾಮತಃ |
ಅಸಿ ರತ್ನಂ ಮಹಾಬಾಹೋ ದದಾಮಿ ಚ ನೃಪಾತ್ಮಜ ||
ಗಾಂಧರ್ವ ಮಸ್ತ್ರಂ ದಯಿತಂ ಮಾನವಂ ನಾಮ ನಾಮತಃ |
ಪ್ರಸ್ವಾಪನಪ್ರಶಮನೇ ದದ್ಮಿ ಸೌರಂ ಚ ರಾಘವ ||

Oh Raghava ! I will also give the Kankala , the dreadful Musala, the Kapala, and the Kankanam all of which are used by Asuras.The great weapon of Vidhyadharas by name 'Nandanam' and the best of swords will also be passed on to you. O Raghava I will give the weapons of Gadharvas by name 'Manava' , Prasvaapana, Prasamana and Sauraastra'.

ವರ್ಷಣಂ ಶೋಷಣಂ ಚೈವ ಸಂತಾಪನವಿಲಾಪನೇ |
ಮದನಂ ಚೈವ ದುರ್ದರ್ಷಂ ಕಂದರ್ಪದಯಿತಂ ತಥಾ ||
ಪೈಶಾಚಮಸ್ತ್ರಂ ದಯಿತಂ ಮೋಹನಂ ನಾಮ ನಾಮತಃ |
ಪ್ರತೀಚ್ಛ ನರಶಾರ್ದೂಲ ರಾಜಪುತ್ತ್ರ ಮಹಯಶಃ ||

' Oh best of princes ! I will pass on 'Varshanam' 'Soshanam' 'Santapana' and 'Vilapana' as well as 'Madanam' which can not be countered and which is the beloved missile of Kandarpa. Similarly the missile 'Mohana' beloved of the fiends also will be passed on to you'.

ತಾಮಸಂ ನರಶಾರ್ದೂಲ ಸೌಮನಂ ಚ ಮಹಾಬಲ |
ಸಂವರ್ತಂ ಚೈವ ದುರ್ದರ್ಷಂ ಮೌಸಲಂ ಚ ನೃಪಾತ್ಮಜ ||
ಸತ್ಯಮಸ್ತ್ರಂ ಮಹಾಬಾಹೋ ತಥಾ ಮಾಯಾಧರಂ ಪರಮ್ |
ಸೌರಂ ತೇಜಃ ಪ್ರಭಂ ನಾಮ ಪರತೇಜೋsಪಕರ್ಷಣಮ್ ||

'Oh Tiger among men ! I will also pass on Tamasam, Saumanam, Samvartam. and the formidable Mausalam. O Rama I will also pass on the weapon by name Satya, Mayadharam , and the Sun gods weapon by name 'Tejah Prabha' which takes away the power of the enemies'.

ಸೌಮ್ಯಾಸ್ತ್ರಂ ಶಿಶಿರಂ ನಾಮ ತ್ವಷ್ಟುರಸ್ತ್ರಂ ಸುದಾಮನಮ್ |
ದಾರುಣಂ ಚ ಭಗಸ್ಯಾಪಿ ಶೀತೇಷು ಮಥಮಾನವಮ್ ||
ಏತಾನ್ ರಾಮ ಮಹಾಬಾಹೋಕಾಮರೂಪಾನ್ ಮಹಾಬಲಾನ್ |
ಗೃಹಾಣ ಪರಮೋದಾರಾನ್ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಮೇವ ನೃಪಾತ್ಮಜ ||

Oh Rama ! the weapon by name 'Sisira' of Moon, Viswakarma's Sudarunaastram, Darunaasrtram of Bhaga, Manu's 'Siteshu' will be given. All these weapons are very powerful, and are the very best with the capability to take any form. Please receive them from me'.

ಸ್ಥಿತಸ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಜ್ಞ್ಮುಖೋಭೂತ್ವಾ ಶುಚಿರ್ಮುನಿವರಸ್ತದಾ |
ದದೌ ರಾಮಾಯ ಸುಪ್ರೀತೋ ಮಂತ್ರಗ್ರಾಮಂ ಅನುತ್ತಮಮ್ ||
ಸರ್ವಸಂಗ್ರಹಣಂ ಯೇಷಾಂ ದೈವತೈರಪಿ ದುರ್ಲಭಮ್ |
ತಾನ್ಯಸ್ತ್ರಾಣಿ ತದಾ ವಿಪ್ರೋ ರಾಘವಾಯ ನ್ಯವೇದಯತ್ ||

Then the venerable sage Viswamitra , having purified himself, sat facing east and passed on these weapons invoking the presiding Gods of those weapons. Viswamitra passed on all such weapons which are difficult even for Gods to acquire.

ಜಪತಸ್ತು ಮುನೇಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಸ್ಯ ಧೀಮತಃ |
ಉಪತಸ್ಥುರ್ಮಹಾರ್ಹಾಣಿ ಸರ್ವಾಣ್ಯಸ್ತ್ರಾಣಿ ರಾಘವಮ್ ||
ಊಚುಶ್ಚ ಮುದಿತಾಃ ಸರ್ವೇ ರಾಮಂ ಪ್ರಾಂಜಲಯಸ್ತದಾ |
ಇಮೇ ಸ್ಮ ಪರಮೋದಾರಾಃ ಕಿಂಕರಾಸ್ತವ ರಾಘವ ||

The venerable sage Viswamitra, reciting the Mantras then imparted them to Rama iin order for him to invoke the weapons and the presiding Gods , so that they follow the instructons of SriRama. Then all those great weapons joined Sri Rama. All the presiding gods of those weapons paid obeisance to SriRama and said ,' O Raghava ! Having joined you we will do your bidding always'.

ಪ್ರತಿಗೃಹ್ಯ ಚ ಕಾಕುತ್ ಸ್ಥಃ ಸಮಾಲಭ್ಯ ಚ ಪಾಣಿನಾ |
ಮಾನಸಾ ಮೇ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಧ್ವಮ್ ಇತಿ ತಾನಭ್ಯಚೋದಯತ್ ||

SriRama too having touched them with has hand as token of accepting them said,' May you all be able to join me even with a mere thought ! '

ತತಃ ಪ್ರೀತಿಮನಾ ರಾಮೋ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಂ ಮಹಾಮುನಿಮ್ |
ಅಭಿವಾದ್ಯ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ಗಮನಾಯೋಪಚಕ್ರಮೇ ||

Saluting the venerable sage Viswamitra along with Lakshmana , the glorious Rama with a delighted mind was ready for further travels.

ಇತ್ಯಾರ್ಷೇ ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ರಾಮಾಯಣೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೀಯೇ ಆದಿಕಾವ್ಯೇ
ಬಾಲಕಾಂಡೇ ಸಪ್ತವಿಂಶ ಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ ||
ಸಮಾಪ್ತಂ ||

Thus ends Tewnty seventh Sarga of balakanda in Valmikis Ramayana.
